I really love the Premier Parfait Chunky chenille blue yarn I used for this design. Bernat blanket yarn, for instance is much thicker. I love using the chenille bulky weight yarn because the project goes fast and you have a velvety snuggle buddy in an evening or two! You could try a different chunky yarn but I’ve found that gauge really does change a lot when you switch yarns.
